Wendy and Philip contacted Schultz Ornamental Iron to fabricate two custom curved hand railings for the steps leading to their home. Curved railings can be challenging to match precisely to the contour of a curved walkway because most landscape projects are not built with a perfectly consistent radius. Our team specializes in carefully measuring and fabricating railings that match the exact curve of the existing walkway.
Creating curved handrails requires precise calculations to ensure the angles, stair slope, post placement, and anchor points align correctly with the center of the steps. Attention to these details allows the railing system to be both structurally secure and visually balanced.
This project was completed in Freeport, Pennsylvania, along the Allegheny River. Schultz Ornamental Iron fabricated the railings in our shop, sandblasted the steel for proper surface preparation, powder coated them in a semi-gloss black finish, and then completed the final installation on site.
