We recently completed a custom interior iron feature installation for Rebecca and Ryan at their home in the Pittsburgh, PA area. This project involved designing, fabricating, and installing decorative iron panels within the square wall openings overlooking their main living space.
The design features a modern geometric pattern with clean horizontal and rectangular lines, inspired by contemporary and Art Deco influences. This style adds visual interest while maintaining an open, airy feel between levels of the home. The custom iron inserts provide architectural detail without blocking light or sightlines, making them both functional and highly decorative.
Each panel was fabricated in-house and finished with a durable black powder coat finish for a smooth, consistent appearance and long-lasting protection. Our team handled the full installation to ensure a precise fit within each opening and a seamless integration with the surrounding drywall and trim.
To create a cohesive design throughout the home, we carried this same geometric pattern into additional custom pieces. We fabricated a matching custom shelf and clothes hanger for the primary closet, allowing the design to continue into the interior spaces in a subtle and functional way. In addition, we installed custom handrails throughout the house, providing added safety while maintaining a consistent modern iron aesthetic.
As part of this project, we also designed and installed a custom interior dog gate for Rebecca and Ryan, featuring a clean modern frame and a custom dog silhouette cutout at the center. The gate was finished in the same black powder coat to match the rest of the ironwork and provides both safety and a personalized design element for their home.
Rebecca and Ryan were absolutely thrilled with the final result and shared that they loved how the custom ironwork elevated the overall design of their home. These interior iron panels, custom iron features, handrails, and dog gate now serve as focal points, adding both character and modern elegance to the space.
